Conducts investigation of death resulting from criminal, suspicious or undetermined causes. Interviews witnesses and prepares full descriptions of scene and pertinent facts relating to the death. Examines, secures official possession and transports body to Medical Examiner's facilities. Gathers evidence and related materials at the scene. Obtains exemplar material from suspects in criminal cases. Draws blood from Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) arrests. Reviews and documents reports on medical records. Conducts follow-up investigations as directed by superiors. Lectures to police, community, professional associations and educational groups.
