1992-1994 Owner, Builder, Tom's Ameritone Paint and Wallpaper Home Decorating Center
- Collaborated with artitect in designing space for tenant improvements. Secured permits through Hazardous Materials (H Occupancy), special restrictions process. Constructed building as well as supervised all subcontractors. Developed safety plan and hazardous materials plan for business. Responsible for safety of employees and general public.
1990-1992 Owner, Baird Construction, Incline Village, Lake Tahoe, NV
- Constructed custom spec homes. Collaborated with artitect in design of homes. Scheduled all subcontractors, contract negotiations, obtained permits, called for inspections, coordinated interior design and decorating, assured job site safety; and coordinated safety program for all employees and subcontractors.
1989-1990 Owner-Builder-Operator, Subway Sandwich Restaurant, Incline Village, Lake Tahoe, NV
- Developed and built first fast food franchise in the small North Shore community of Lake Tahoe NV. Succeeded over local opposition to secure permits for construction by interacting with local leaders and government agencies. Participated in all phases of construction. Supervised subcontractors. Marketed to the public. Oversaw safety of all employees and the general public.
1981-1989 Owner, Baird Construction, Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii
- Constructed and coordinated architectural design of custom homes valued at six figures each. Conducted expansive construction of the condominium project on the Cliffs at Princeville, transforming the property into a timeshare resort. Remodeled 75 condominiums and the recreation center. Managed the safety program for the job site, including supervision of the employees and subcontractors. Built a retail tennis shop, large maintenance facility and sales offices. Supervised the construction of individual condominium units and common areas. Obtained permits, material acquisitions, subcontractors negotiations; scheduled inspections and corrections of deficiencies. Involved extensively in design of interiors, selection of speciality products and finishes.
1982-1989 Owner-Operator, Beamreach Restaurant, Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii
- Owned and operated one of the finest restaurant and cocktail lounges in the Hawaiian Islands. Oversaw the safety program for all employees and the general public.
1980 Construction Forman, Charles Pankow & Associates, Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii
- Punch List Foreman for the construction of the Cliffs at Princeville, a 202-unit lucury condominium project. Supervised construction completion of all units, readied for closing. Coordinated deficiency work of subcontractors. Satisfied needs of contractor, developer, lenders and new homeowners. Interacted with all parties involved in property transfers. Safety supervisor for the construction crew. Awarded Safety Supervisor.
Assistant Superintendent, RCR Construction, Garden Grove, CA and Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii
- Constructed and remodeled custom homes and room additions in Garden Grove and Princeville. Constructed a large Masonic Hall, coordinated volunteer workers on project. Job site safety officer of employees and subcontractors.
