Employed part-time, in a hospital setting, as an independent contractor to staff the Emergency Room/Urgent Care Clinic in a state prison with a population of 11,00 inmates. Evaluated and managed prisoners presenting for emergent and minor illnesses, trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, AIDS-related illnesses, diabetes, etc. Coordinated patient admissions and transfers to other facilities as indicated. Triaged calls from nursing staff and correctional officers at other statewide prisons housing 47,00 inmates to determine the priority of inmate complaints and appropriate disposition. Physician back-up available by phone.

1991 to Present President-Chief Executive Officer, Physician Assistant Placement firm

President, Chief Executive Officer and Owner of a placement firm that exclusively deals with the placement of physician assistants and nurse practioners nationwide. Recruitment of qualified candidates, reference evaluations, licensure and certification verifications, coordination of site visits between candidates and clients and contract negotiations. Administered activities between corporate-owed offices in Michigan, Texas and Georgia. Managed financial and future business development and expansion. 1987 to Present Physician Assistant - Emergency Care/Urgent Care

Staffed hospital Emergency Room and Urgent Care Center. Evaluated and managed patient care for treatment of minor and emergenc conditions; preliminary interpretation of X-rays; electrocardiograms; laboratory tests; stabilized trauma patients, patients in cardiopulmonary arrest and in other life-threatening events until physician arrival. Coordinated patient transport by Life Flight Helicopter to referral centers. Phycician back-up available by phone.

1975 to Present Physician Assistant - Family Practice

Patient management in a solo-Family Practicioner's office, emergency room and hospital. Performed histories and physical examinations on patients from infancy to geriatrics. Acted as First Assistant in the Operating Room. Dictated discharge summaries, and progress notes. Performed patient rounds. Ordered consultations with appropriate specialty physicians and prescribed appropriate treatment. Ordered appropriate laboratory and radiographich examinatinos, minor office surgeries, colposcopies and cardiac stress testing. with physician back-up by phone.
