Evaluated and managed prisoners presenting for emergent and minor illnesses, trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, AIDS-related illnesses, diabetes, etc. Coordinated patient admissions and transfers to other facilities as indicated. Triaged calls from nursing staff and correctional officers at other statewide prisons housing 47,00 inmates to determine the priority of inmate complaints and appropriate disposition. 1987 to Present Physician Assistant - Emergency Care/Urgent Care

Staffed hospital Emergency Room and Urgent Care Center. Evaluated and managed patient care for treatment of minor and emergenc conditions; preliminary interpretation of X-rays; electrocardiograms; laboratory tests; stabilized trauma patients, patients in cardiopulmonary arrest and in other life-threatening events until physician arrival.
